Fall is a gorgeous time to visit Park City. The leaves are turning from their summer greens to deep hues of yellow, orange, and red, and the air is crisp with light wind and maybe a bit of rain—perfect sweater weather. Fall is a great time to unwind and relax by the fire with a cocktail in hand. Or you can explore our huge trail system before the snow hits. The options are endless, the space is wide open, the vibe is calm, and we're happy to have you during the fall months. Here is a list of our favorite things to do in Park City in the Fall.
Get outside and enjoy the fresh, crisp fall air. Two of the best ways is by foot or wheels. Park City has 400+ miles of singletrack with much of it still rideable well into late-fall. Hit a local bike shop for a rental and get an idea of where to go based on current conditions. With the crisp, cool air and endless trails, you'll have no issue finding a truly epic alpine experience. For a few ideas, check out this list of scenic hikes or these must-ride Park City mountain bike trails.
Spend some time on the river and give fly fishing a try with one of Park City's expert guides. Park City is just 15 minutes from the Middle Provo River—a Blue Ribbon Trout fishery—and one of the best spots to cast a fly. Being cool tailwater, the fish thrive in this river. Above and below are the Upper and Lower Provo river sections and in the neighboring Uintas are hundreds of productive streams and lakes. It's best to book a guide though as many of these spots require a special permit for fishing.
Explore the Park City Farmers Market Located at Park City Mountain in the First Time parking lot, the Farmers Market features local purveyors every Wednesday from 12:00-6:00 PM through October 23rd. There is no better spot to grab fresh produce, locally made breads, arts, and find fun activities for the kids. Located at the base of Park City Mountain, it's a no-brainer to grab some snacks and head up the popular Armstrong, Dawn's, or Jenni's trail. Better yet, jump on the Crescent chairlift for a scenic ride and catch the incredible changing colors!
Fall is the time of year to pause and reflect, to take some time for yourself. It's quieter, and the air is cool and fresh. While the vibe is a bit slower and more contemplative this is the perfect time to book a rejuvenating spa or wellness experience in Park City. From yoga to massages, float pools, stretching, pilates, and more, our little mountain town is a wellness retreat in itself, boasting a bevy of businesses committed to making you feel your best!
Spend the day at the High West Distillery in Wanship. Take a tour of the whiskey distillery before enjoying an educational tasting, followed by a delicious lunch at the High West Distillery Blue Sky location. Just to see how these afficionados craft their spirits is worth it alone to witness their passion for distilling and blending. High West is one of the most revered and well-regarded distilleries in the nation. A whiskey touring and tasting in the beautiful Blue Sky Ranch is not an experience to be missed!
