Annual Events in Park City, Utah

It’s no exaggeration to say that there’s fun to be had 365 days a year in Park City thanks to 7,300 skiable acres and 400 miles of scenic hiking and biking. But it’s also true that visitors from all over the world make a point to mark their calendars and clear their schedules for an array of choice annual events and festivals. Foodies, wine connoisseurs, art aficionados, music fans, and—let’s not forget—movie buffs and industry big-hitters love Park City. You surely will, too.

No matter when you visit, two things are certain: the weather will be gorgeous and the people will be friendly. That’s Park City every day of the year. Now, you just have to decide what annual event to plan around. Enjoy exploring. We can’t wait to welcome you.

Sundance Film Festival

The most fabled affair of the year is—you guessed it— the 10-day Sundance Film Festival. A cinephile’s dream come true, Sundance transforms our little ski town into a hotspot for Hollywood types (non-celebrities welcome!). For over three decades, it has premiered some of the greatest independent films ever made, and, as a festival-goer, you’re likely to see history in the making. Pro tip: take a break from screenings to hit the slopes. Nearly nonexistent lift lines and undisturbed snowfall mean skiers and snowboarders can rejoice! With the crowds engrossed in all things film, you’ll get those coveted first tracks and lots of room to carve, or wipeout, without an audience. And remember to brush up on your small talk skills because, when you’re not in a darkened theater, you may share bar space and banter with a movie biz up-and-comer.

Two events will be contested for the first time at World Championships, big air skiing and team aerials, following approvals this past week by the FIS Congress. It will be the largest international event in Utah since the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
