The Summit Land Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2002, and the only nonprofit dedicated to saving the open spaces of Park City and the Wasatch Back. We protect and monitor this community’s investment in local open spaces by defending 46 permanent conservation easements on 7,012 acres of land—and we’re currently working to preserve an additional 5,000+ acres of the landscapes our community cherishes. Our tourism, recreation, and resort economy depend on open spaces remaining intact. By preserving undeveloped spaces in Summit County, we keep the scenic views and recreational opportunities that bring so much revenue to our community. Open space is the heart of our community. We are a strictly local organization, staffed and run by area residents dedicated to saving land. We work with landowners, donors, our local government, and with partner organizations who share a stake in what we do. It takes a lot of creative problem-solving, and a heaping dose of community fun to get the job done.
