National Ability Center
The National Ability Center (NAC) is a non-profit in Park City that provides adaptive recreation opportunities and has been in operation for nearly 40 years. There “why” is driven by the belief that a disability should never stand in the way of living an active and fulfilling life. From two locations in Park City and one in Moab, UT, the NAC provides outdoor programming, equipment, and lodging in an environment free of discrimination and exclusion.
Located just 40 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport, The Ranch and McGrath Mountain Center locations have easy access to singletrack trails and ski runs and their own equestrian, high ropes, and archery facilities—just a few among many other opportunities.
Adaptive Programs
The magic of the NAC is their ability to provide adaptive and community-based programs for beginners to expert athletes across a wide range of sports disciplines and therapies. From two locations in Park City, The Ranch and the McGrath Mountain Center, the NAC offers the equipment and lessons needed for a fulfilling outdoor experience.
From multi-day camps or day trips, equestrian experiences and programs designed specifically for members of the military and veterans, the NAC has something for everyone in a safe and fun environment.
Non-Profit Operations
The NAC is a non-profit organization. They provide their adaptive programs and lodging at low cost and often free of charge—offering hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships. Their mission is supported by generous donations from individuals and communities and grants. Other special uses of their facilities for meetings and events provide additional revenue and opportunities. Volunteer
At the core of the NAC is an army of over 1000 volunteers that make their operations and programs successful. Without these incredible individuals, the NAC could not provide the level of services they do.
