Spending quality time with close friends is always a good idea. Yet planning an ideal itinerary for a group of diverse women — especially in the midst of an ongoing pandemic — poses a more difficult question. How can you plan an amazing trip for all of your friends — wellness-oriented yogis, wine-loving foodies, and daring adrenaline junkies included?

Park City provides the perfect solution. This picturesque mountain town offers a wide range of activities and options that make it simple to suit all tastes. With a wide array of restaurants and bars, arts and culture, five-star spas, and of course, incredible skiing, a foolproof girls’ trip is at your fingertips.

Whether it’s a bachelorette party, birthday celebration, or just a much-needed vacation, here’s the ultimate guide to planning a memorable girls’ getaway to Park City this winter.

Skiing for any level

One of the biggest draws of a winter trip to Park City is the skiing — a naturally social-distant sport! Known as Winter’s Favorite Town,™ Park City’s two renowned resorts provide a great place for newbie skiers to learn the ropes of skiing in a comfortable environment, while more experienced skiers will love the endless run options and gorgeous landscapes.

At Park City Mountain Resort, 17 percent of its 348 ski runs are designed specifically for beginner skiers and riders. Some of the best beginner-friendly runs include Home Run, an impressively long 3.5-mile green run, Claim Jumper, First Time, and Flat Iron. Another highlight: High Meadow Park, a new learning terrain area designed for beginner skiers. (Interested in taking a lesson? Be sure to check out these seven things to know before you go!)

If you’re looking for something more intermediate, either Park City Mountain Resort or Deer Valley Resort have endless options. Find some of our favorite intermediate runs with spectacular views at both resorts here

Yoga classes for all

If your group is looking to stretch it out after (or instead of!) sliding down the slopes, we recommend signing up for a yoga class at one of our great yoga studios in town. You can also bring the class right to your home or hotel by hiring a private yoga instructor. During COVID, some restrictions may apply and studios will be capping their classes to allow for effective social distancing, so call the studio in advance to be aware of any rules.

Arts and culture galore

Take an afternoon to stroll by and window shop at the 20+ galleries on Main Street, or visit the Kimball Art Center to get a peek at the free exhibitions. If you’re in town on the last Friday of the month, check out the free Gallery Strolls, when the galleries open their doors to the public. Each gallery will have procedures in place to keep staff and visitors safe and be prepared to use masks and social distancing to help keep everyone as safe as possible.

Rejuvenating spas

Spending a spa day with your girlfriends is a fantastic way to relax, recharge, and de-stress — which we all need to do, this year more than ever! Here, you’ll find some of the top spas in the world, including the Waldorf Astoria Spa, ranked North America’s Best Hotel Spa of 2018, and the Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge, Utah’s only Forbes Five-Star spa. (Read about our first-hand experience at the luxe retreat here.) Or check out the spacious, 35,000 square-foot Spa Montage at the Montage Deer Valley.

Foodie-friendly activities

Traveling with foodies? Consider booking a cooking class with some of Park City’s finest chefs: Mindful Cuisine, where Chef Linda hosts private events in her home kitchen as well as virtual events, or look into Mountain Town Olive Oil’s The Next Course cooking classes, held right on Main Street. Please call ahead to ensure there’s room, as capacity may be limited.

Fantastic restaurants and cafés

We could go on and on about why Park City is the perfect place for foodies. And if you want proof, just check out our Tastemakers video series with local chefs. But for now, cruise through our extensive restaurant listings to see what strikes your fancy. From American to Italian to Sushi, you and your friends will not go hungry, no matter what you’re in the mood for.

There’s also been an Australian invasion in Park City — with very delicious results. Inspired by the bountiful breakfasts Down Under, three Aussie cafés serving healthy, fresh, and satiating food have burst onto the Park City culinary scene: Five5eeds, Harvest, and Campos Café. A girls’ trip wouldn’t be complete without stopping by one of these hot spots for coffee or brunch.

Lively bars

While the nightlife in Park City will feel very different in 2020 than years past, bars on Main Street are still open for (limited) business. Grab your girls and grab a cocktail in Fletcher’s chic downstairs lounge, or sip some locally blended wines at Old Town Cellars. For a more casual feel, stop by the two-story Spur Bar & Grill for live music on weekends nights, or The Cabin, a sports bar with rustic hunting-cabin vibes.

Accommodations for every budget

When you visit Park City, your girls’ group will have your pick of accommodations for whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Go with a cozy rental home if you want to minimize your contact with others (pro tip: order groceries from The Grocery Girls to have them ready and waiting at your rental), or look into our wide range of mid-tier hotels and luxurious resorts. Check out our collection of places to stay here, where you can filter through the search results to find your ideal spot.
