Strength Training for Athletes & Adults

We take our speed and agility training seriously, we have complemented our Acceleration program with Strength training.  We have implemented a lifting program to teach those important multi-joint olympic lifts, we break down the lifting technique so you can have success for years to come.  We teach using barbell with the following:  bench press, over head press, bent over row, dead lift, front, overhead and back squat, hang cleans, and many other important Olympic lifts to get your athlete strong.  We recommend this training class for all athletes entering into high school.  

We also offer this lifting class to our Adult AR FIT Community, as we age we tend to lose bone density, with proper weight training we can build and prevent bone density loss and with "time under tension" aka weight lifting is a great way to prevent your bones from becoming weak as we age.  Another advantage of weight training as an adult, the more muscle you have the more it increases your resting basal metabolic rate, means you burn more calories.

Return 2 Play

A serious knee injury can be devastating for athletes of any age. Missing a season is tough, but even worse is returning to play unprepared. Athletes who complete a post-surgery physical therapy program may not yet be ready for a return to full-speed play; our  ACL Bridge program ‘bridges’ that gap. This individualized program includes regular evaluations to measure progress as athletes work to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, stability, and power so they can return to competition “better than new.”

Enhanced Training

Enhanced Training’s 30-minute classes are for anyone who wants to improve their athletic skills, reduce injury risk, and/or enhance recovery. They can be taken on their own, or added on to regular 60-minute training sessions. None of the classes are metabolically taxing, so adding them to a routine doesn’t increase the risk of overuse injury, and makes them ideal for athletes who are in-season. Modules include Stability, Recovery, Sensory, Shoulder Safety, and Strength training.

Running Mechanics

Developing speed and running efficiency was the mission that Athletic Republic was first built around, and we've only added to our understanding in the ensuing 3 decades. Book an intensive, high-level Gait Analysis with our biomechanics experts for the ultimate in running coaching. Using observation and extensive video feedback, we'll break down your stride one frame at a time and teach you what you need to do to become faster, comfortably increase your mileage, and avoid injuries. You'll come out of it armed with useful knowledge and a home program to consolidate your gains. Further practice is available in Running Mechanics sessions, available in a scheduled class or as private training (Gait Analysis is recommended before these but not required).

Sensory Training

Training with the Senaptec strobe glasses enhances visual skills such as focus, object tracking, anticipation timing, reaction time, visualization, balance/stability, and peripheral vision. The strobes in the glasses reduce the amount of visual information available to the athlete, forcing them to become more effective in processing this data. This effectively slows the game down around the athlete, helping them make quicker decisions, execute rapid responses, and complete more efficient movements which contribute to better game-day performance.

Cord Training

Athletic Republic Conditioning Cords provide controlled resistance while allowing athletes to perform at game speed, greatly improving sport-specific power for hitting, throwing, running, shooting, spiking serving and/or jumping. Our patented SprintCords, KickingCords, ThrowingCords, PowerCords, Hitting Harness and Warm-up Cords provide resistance without changing or affecting proper mechanics to increase power. In addition, it helps athletes isolate aspects of their movement to develop greater proprioception and understanding of good technique.

Strength Training

Our weight training program is designed specifically for each athlete’s sport, training age, gender, and imbalances, with the aim of building a more injury-resistant athlete. As a result, we spend a lot of time developing decelerating musculature and healthy joints such as hips, knees and shoulders. Additional considerations include energy systems, movement patterns, primary as well as secondary movers, hypertrophy, strength, power, and endurance. We use everything from free weights and kettlebells to bands and boxes. Our athletes are under the watchful eye of an instructor to ensure they are being taught the right way to push themselves.

  • I had set my goal last Winter 2021 to start Varsity Football for my Sophomore season at 5A Skyline High School. I wanted to be the fastest, quickest, and most powerful Safety and come "Game Ready" for the Football Season. I trained consistently and "put in the work" with the Team and Trainers at Athletic Republic over the summer prep period and met my goal of starting Varsity Football even with this being my second year ever of playing tackle football. I want to personally thank my Trainer Nick Harman for making me a faster, stronger and a more agile athlete so I can unlevel the playing field.
