Overview

We believe arts and ideas matter. We are continually seeking ways to serve our community by bringing arts and ideas into as many lives as possible.

Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series

In 2003, PCI began presenting the Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Seriesat Deer Valley Resort’s gorgeous Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. The jaw-dropping venue beckoned to fans with a wide range of stars, such as Willie Nelson, Chris Isaak, Mavis Staples and Alison Krauss, and the list of Grammy-winning stars grows with each summer season.

Eccles Center Main Stage

We bring performing arts from the international stage to the Park City stage, for the illumination of residents and visitors alike. The 2013-2014 season alone, we presented Boz Scaggs, All Wheel Sports, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Bernadette Peters, Garrison Keillor, Puppet Up Uncensored, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Trey McIntyre Project, Celtic Nights, Nellie McKay with Turtle Island Quartet, Jessica Lang Dance Company, Letters Home, Zoozoo, and Jon Batiste. The season included dance, theatre, music, family attractions and amazing spectacles.

We sell tickets and sponsorships to all our events so that we can honor our mission give tickets to the underserved. 20% of our audiences are subsidized, including: Summit County senior citizens; Treasure Mountain Middle School Leadership class; Latinos in Action; Peace House clients; local police and firefighters, Holy Cross Ministries clients; bus drivers and snow plow drivers and more, so much more. We bring nationally recognized performers into the classroom to mentor and inspire our local students and their teachers. Every act costs us more because we pay larger fees to have them participate in teaching activities, for multiple days which require increased accommodations, food and transportation.

In addition to Main Stage shows and the “Big Stars, Bright Nights” series, PCI is dedicated to introducing young people to the arts through free student outreach workshops, shows and demonstrations. Gates open 90-minutes before show time. Coolers are permitted, a nine-inch chair height restriction in enforced, and cameras or recordings of any kind are strictly prohibited. Concerts will be held rain or shine unless inclement weather threatens public safety (tickets are non-refundable). Please call 435-655-3114 our visit website for a complete concert line up or to buy tickets.

We provide free, after-school, one-on-one, literacy tutoring at the Mega-Genius Supply Store and IQ HQ located on Swede Alley in Old Town. Inspired by Dave Eggers’ 826Valencia.org – not school; not home; someplace caring and nurturing in between. Because the literary arts are still the arts. Our students show marked improvement in their studies because of the individual attention they receive here. Last year we saw more than 1,200 student visits!

We gather the thinky people in the community for unforgettable TEDxParkCity and other illuminating experiences.
