The McPolin Farm Nature Trail is a great family-friendly interpretive trail designed specifically to introduce children to the plants and wildlife native to the area. Be sure to allow time to explore the iconic McPolin Barn complex.
What to Expect – From the parking lot head west to the pedestrian tunnel under HWY 224. Follow the paved trail to the McPolin Barn, after crossing the bridge stay to the right and continue slightly uphill to an intersection where you will take a right on the paved Farm Trail. The beginning of the McPolin Farm Nature Trail will be .15 mile on the left side. The trail winds through aspen groves along the hillside passing 11 interpretive signs. There are a couple of shady benches along the route that are perfect for taking snack breaks for young hikers. The single-track connects back to the paved Farm Trail where you will take a right to loop back to the McPolin Barn.
