Winter Tapas Style Dinner

Overview

Tapas are the small dishes served with drinks in Spanish bars. They are served one at a time and classically are just a bite or two for one or two people. While certain dishes are typically served in a tapas bar, a tapas can be anything. The most defining characteristic is that the dishes are made from ingredients that are local and in season.

For this dinner, you will make a collection of traditional and modern Spanish-style dishes using seasonal ingredients. You will prepare platter of tapas to share. Each platter will contain a full portion for each guest, and the dishes will collectively form a delicious meal. For the complete experience, bring a Spanish wine such as Tempranillo or Garnacha (Grenache) or a Spanish sherry.

Valencia Orange and Pomegranate Salad with Olive Oil and Sherry Dressing
Tomato Toast with Serrano Ham
Cauliflower Fritters with Mint Yogurt Sauce
Fingerling Papas Bravas with Smokey Aioli
Fideos (Pasta) with Shrimp
Grilled Lamb-Stuffed Calamari with Crispy Shallots
Chocolate Pots with Olive Oil Sea Salt Toasts
