19-year-old Utah native Sophia Dion has only just begun to tap into her true artistic potential. Currently living in Los Angeles attending the University of Southern California (USC) majoring in Popular Music as a singer/songwriter. Sophia is surrounded by music, creating new songs and mastering her skills daily. With a sound inspired by the likes of artists crossing many genres, she likes to call her style alternative country-soul. Some of her biggest inspirations include Maren Morris, ZZ Ward, and Chris Stapleton.
Growing up there was never a time where Sophia wasn‰Ûªt singing. She began to play guitar at age 10 and from that point on never strayed away from pursuing a career in music. Sophia started off playing venues in her hometown of Park City, including events at the Sundance film festival and local summer concert series. From then on, she began to widen her horizons traveling to Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles playing shows and writing new music. Performing at places including the Netflix headquarters, YouTube Space LA, The Hotel Cafe, and Nashville‰Ûªs iconic 3rd and Lindsley, to name a few. As well as, recording her originals and singing background vocals for artists with Atlantic Records.
Sophia‰Ûªs original music explores themes familiar to all teenagers. Her songs are inspired by her day to day life experiences and those around her. Writing is Sophia's true passion and she is currently working on writing songs for her future album, and finalizing her next single. Hoping to release new music by summer 2019.
Taking a bit of a detour from his regular gigs as both Gwen Stefani’s and Shania Twain’s bass player, Derek Frank takes us on a journey through organic instrumental groove music, drawing influence from many genres; Funk, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Southern Rock, and 70s soundtrack music are all strongly represented in his new solo venture. To convey his musical vision, Derek has assembled a 4-piece supergroup including guitarist Joshua Ray Gooch (his bandmate with Shania Twain), Ty Bailie on keyboards (currently in Katy Perry’s band), and drummer extraordinaire Randy Cooke (from Smashmouth, Colbie Caillat, Ringo Starr, & countless others).
Derek’s most recent solo release, aptly titled “Eleven Years Later”, is the follow up to his 2009 debut “Let the Games Begin…”, and features the aforementioned players along with special guests Joe Bonamassa, The Fat City Horns, former Tower of Power drummer Herman Matthews, and a handful of other notable musicians from Derek's various circles. Available everywhere you buy or stream music; Special-edition vinyl LPs and USB sticks are available through his official online store… For more info, visit www.DerekFrank.com
