The Paddle Pedal Paddle is our version of a Triathlon.
It is 5 miles of standup paddle boarding, followed by 10 miles of mountain biking, finished with 5 miles of standup paddle boarding. By using the mountain bike to exhaust the legs and then ask them to support you on the final stage of the event, we feel that last stage is almost nothing like the first. The typical weather pattern over the last 5 years of running this event has been calm glassy water for stage one and windy choppy water for stage three. This adds to the differences between stage one and three as standup paddling in calm glassy water versus windy choppy water are two very different things. If your planning on soloing the course please plan accordingly. Hydration both on the sup and bike are critical. We also recommend having food available at the transition area to keep your engine fueled.
Completing this course is a victory in itself.
The race can also be divided into two or three person teams to spread around the challenges of the course.
