Legendary violinist, singer and actress, Lucia Micarelli (August 5), returns to the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights stage, just as her critically-acclaimed PBS Special, “An Evening with Lucia Micarelli,” hits the KUED airwaves. “I think my show has sort of evolved into a personal journey of music, of my work so far. And because I’ve met so many people in all these different genres and fallen in love with all this music, the show ends up being this crazy mix - just kind of a
really wide mix of things.” The Treme star is a force—touring and collaborating with artists like Josh Groban, Chris Botti, Jethro Tull, playing everything from classical to jazz, to Americana. Expect an exciting and eclectic romp through genres, from the performer The Wall Street Journal called, “a violinist of heart- melting talent.” Joining her for the evening is cellist, composer and, TED Senior Fellow, Joshua Roman. Known for his wide-ranging repertoire, and an improvisational and versatile performance style, Roman has been called, “a musician of imagination and expressive breadth,” by the Seattle Post- Intelligencer. He is credited with bringing a fresh approach to classical music, and will collaborate with Micarelli to create a show that will challenge the expectations of classical music.
