Park City is a town packed with everything from mountain adventure activities, to vibrant nightlife and award-winning dining. It is challenging to fit everything Park City has to offer into one weekend, but luckily we are here to help. We picked a few of our favorite ideas to help you plan your own perfect 72 hours in our quaint mountain town.
Arrive in Park City (just 35 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport) and check into your lodging. Park City offers luxurious hotels, vacation rentals, and charming inns - regardless of where you choose to stay, you will feel right at home. It may be tempting to turn in early after traveling, but we suggest that you head to one of Park City's many award-winning restaurants. After dinner, try one of the bars or saloons on Historic Main Street. Don't forget to indulge in one of Park City's local brews, or some High West whiskey, which is distilled locally.
Friday Morning on Historic Main Street:
We suggest you grab breakfast on Historic Main Street, with your hiking gear in tow. Ask a Park City local where they like to grab coffee and breakfast - we're certain they will have a favorite. Hop on the free city-wide transit bus from the Old Town Transit Center on Swede Alley (parallel to Main Street) and head to Park City Mountain or Deer Valley Resort for a scenic chairlift ride. The resorts burst with beautiful autumn colors this time of year. Enjoy the crisp air as you hike back down to one of the resort centers. Stay at one of the resort centers for lunch, or catch the free bus back to Historic Main Street to enjoy an al fresco meal with a gorgeous view.
A Gold Medal Friday Afternoon & Evening:
As host to the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City has held onto its Olympic legacy in many ways, but especially when it comes to the Utah Olympic Park (UOP). An afternoon spent at the UOP is the perfect opportunity to channel your inner athlete with activities such as zip-lining, bobsled rides, and adventure ropes courses. Professional athletes use the facility to train as well - perhaps you will see a future Olympian practicing his or her aerials above the newly renovated pool!
