What to Do in Park City in February

When it comes to finding a fun activity that the whole family can enjoy, you can’t beat the Midway Ice Castles. The unbelievable craftsmanship of the world of ice you’ll walk into will make you forget you are still on planet earth. From giant ice sculptures to ice slides the kids can glide down, this stop is sure to be a hit with everyone!

What's more romantic than Valentine's Day spent in the mountains? A day on the slopes and some time at the spa before dinner out on the town - you can't beat it! There are many Park City area restaurants offering Valentine's Day specials. Choose between three or four-course prix fixe menus or, if you prefer, snag a reservation at your favorite Park City restaurant. After all, they say the way to someone's heart is through their stomach.

With a new month comes a myriad of shows at the Egyptian Theatre. Starting on February 1st through the 4th, enjoy a jam night with Leftover Salmon. Other shows include The Lone Bellow, Martin Sexton, and Brett Dennon with Langhorne Slim. And rounding out February is 10,000 Maniacs. Tickets go fast—don't hesitate to grab a seat at one of these great shows! 

Looking for a workout and a way to explore Park City outside the resorts? Give Nordic skiing a try! Not only is it a great way to work up a sweat, but it's also a fun way to take in the area's beautiful mountain scenery. Head to White Pine Touring at the Park City Municipal Golf Course for more mellow terrain with gradual hills or Round Valley for expansive views and access to accessible trails. Basin Recreation grooms 25 kilometers of free trails that meander through Willow Creek Park and the Utah Olympic Park area. Prefer to get out of town and into the woods? Schedule a guided ski tour or try the Beaver Creek Ski Trail in the Uinta Mountains, which is just past Kamas on Mirror Lake Highway.

Grab a pair of snowshoes and explore Park City like you never have before! There are so many incredible views and historic relics you can explore all via snowshoe and taking a tour is a great way to experience them. Push yourself up the mountain to an old mining tunnel entrance with All Seasons Adventures. If you want to take an easier route, take a snowshoe tour around the Swaner Nature Preserve and learn a little bit about the nature that surrounds us.

A fun activity for the whole family, ice skating is the perfect way to wind down from a day on the slopes. Skate outside under a string of lights at the Resort Center Ice Skating Rink, which is located at the Park City Base Area, open 12:00 PM-8:00 PM daily and offers skate rentals. Or, head indoors to the Park City Ice Arena, located in Quinn's Junction, where public skate hours are plentiful and vary throughout the week. Park City Ice Arena offers skate rentals and lessons as well.
