Yesterday, Vail Resorts announced a $50 million capital improvement plan linking Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) and Canyons Resort, which will create the single largest ski resort in the United States. The improvement plan also includes a new gondola, two new chairlifts, a new restaurant, two restaurant improvements and more.

This was exciting news to all of us here at the Park City Chamber/Bureau. While we are proud to call our world-renowned resort town home, we are equally as proud to share this expansion news with our friends around the globe.

"This is truly a transformation of the Park City/Canyons ski product," said Bill Malone, Chamber/Bureau CEO. "Once completed, our customers will love us even more! While this is a great improvement to our customers' ski experience, even bigger, this is an improvement to the Park City vacation experience."

In addition to growing the ski product here in Park City, the PCMR and Canyons Resort expansion will also bring new job opportunities to the Park City area.

"This is one big undertaking," added Malone. "This is a massive amount of improvement to what is already one of best ski destinations in North America. This is not only a tremendous upgrade to our ski product, but also a boon to the regional construction industry, supporting hundreds of jobs in the building trades next summer."
