Greetings from snowy Park City! Main Street is looking festive as we get ready to welcome family and friends to town for the holidays. As a longtime Park City local, I thought it might be fun to share a few of my favorite holiday activities happening around town. Here are a few events to enjoy:

Santa Arrives on Park City Mountain Resort's Town Lift
Gather with locals and visitors of all ages at the Town Lift Plaza on December 13, to welcome Santa, Rudolph and the other reindeer to Park City. Park City Mountain Resort will host an evening filled with holiday treats as all wait for Santa to fly in on the Town Lift. The festivities begin at 5:30 PM. For more information click here.

Santas on Skis
At Canyons Resort, skiers and boarders can rub elbows with a gaggle of Santas on the slopes on December 20, at the 8th annual Santa Skis Free Day! The first 50 guests that don St. Nick's attire (or Mrs. Claus, reindeer or elves) will ski or ride for free on December 20, 2014 only. Guests must be in FULL costume, no partial costumes will count. Registration will be at the Top of the Cabriolet in the Resort Village from 8:00-9:00 PM. More information here.

Main Street's Main Attractions
The Historic Park City Alliance organizes a month of merriment on Park City's Main Street. From juggling elves to strolling Santas, there's something happening every weekend leading up to Christmas. The merchants also join in the festivities with holiday-themed window decorations. Check out the fun options here.

Holiday Arts & Culture
Check out Park City's Holiday Spectacular at the Egyptian Theater. The show, which runs from December 18-20, features several of Park City's best performers in a holiday-inspired variety show that will get you into the spirit of the season. Sing-a-long to your favorite holiday songs and enjoy a variety of local performers to create a magical season-inspired celebration. A perfect event to enjoy with the whole family.

Ring in the New Year
Early revelers can head over to Deer Valley Resort's annual Torchlight Parade on December 30, at dusk (6:00 PM). Skiers will dazzle with torches and "illuminating" moves. The parade takes place on Big Stick ski run on Bald Eagle Mountain. Prime viewing is from the deck area of Snow Park Lodge, where complimentary hot cider and cookies will be served from 5:45-6:00 PM.

The Park City Institute welcomes Jane Lynch to the Eccles Center for a New Year's Eve filled with musical comedy-cabaret. Best known as Sue Sylvester on "Glee", or for her Broadway debut as Miss Hannigan in "Annie", Lynch has mastered the art of comedic timing and, oh boy, can she sing. Celebrating her love of the beauty - and absurdity - of American standards and show tunes, Lynch will put on a delightful and witty December 31 performance. These events are just the tip of the iceberg. For more fun and festive ideas, check December's full calendar of events.

Happy Holidays from your friends at the Park City Chamber/Bureau!
