There’s really no wrong way to take a winter trip to Park City. Our town has so much to offer from skiing and snowboarding to snowshoeing, winter biking, and so much more. For some they come to Park City for a family ski vacation and for others it’s a time where they can get away from the hustle and bustle of busy home life and enjoy soaking in the winter calmness of the mountains. There isn’t a wrong way to plan a winter trip to Park City but I’m here to help you think a little more creatively about your winter trip planning with options for the romantics and the health conscious because sometimes your intention isn’t to just go, go, go, but to slow down and feel either more connected to yourself or your partner.

Stay

Check into one of these charming hotels to start your trip off right. If you’re looking to stay slopeside, The Montage Deer ValleyThe St. Regis, Pendry Park City and the Hyatt Centric Park City will satisfy your ski in ski out dreams. But if you’re looking for someplace a little more off the beaten path and secluded, book a room at Hotel Park City, Washington School House, or The Lodge at Blue Sky.

Eat

Food and love are bound together because they both produce the same reward hormones, like dopamine and norepinephrine, which make us feel good. Sharing a meal with another is viewed as an indicator of intimacy so get cozy at one of these romantic dining destinations:

Café Terigo

The warm atmosphere of Cafe Terigo is a great place to dine on a  delicious offering of hearty Northern Italian and Southern French cuisine.

Firewood on Main

Old Town Cellars

Park City’s private label winery with a tasting room on Historic Main Street. Old Town Cellar's wine is sourced from top wine growing regions to blend and bottle on site. They offer wine tastings in our tasting room and all wines are available for retail purchase at the Winery. 

River Horse on Main

Riverhorse on Main is Utah's only restaurant to receive both the DiRoNA Award and Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Rating as well as AAA four-diamond award. Savor the Prime steaks, scallops, and lobster tail or delight in the signature macadamia nut-crusted halibut. Dishes feature farm-to-table fresh, local, and organic vegetables and local lamb and wild game. Atrium and patio dining overlooks historic Main Street and mountain vistas. Live entertainment each evening starting at 7 p.m.

Yuki Yama Sushi

Located in the heart of Old Town, Yuki Yama offers the freshest seasonal fish flown in from around the world. Yuki Yama’s menu consists of both traditional Japanese sushi and noodle dishes, as well as more creative, modern sashimi plates and hot dishes.

If your couples weekend includes some on-mountain time for a bit of skiing or snowboarding spend the day together shushing around, staying warm cuddling on chairlifts and enjoying an extended lunch on mountain at either Deer Valley Resort's Royal Street Café a hotspot for an eclectic array of dishes, Park City Mountain's Mid Mountain Lodge, or Canyon’s Lookout Cabin both great places to take in some magnificent views and sip on craft cocktails.

Sleigh Ride for Two 

End your day with a romantic sleigh ride for two. There are a number of companies in and close to town offering sleigh ride experiences with a variety of amenities and dining options. While there are wonderful options for a horse-drawn ride underneath the resort mountains, if you opt for an option out of town, you’ll escape the city lights enough to take your ride underneath shimmering starlight. 

Moonlight Walks

Whether you choose to wander along a hiking trail, roam down Historic Main Street or simply take a stroll around the resort, romantic moonlight walks have always been a Park City tradition. Check out a StarGazer snowshoe tour from All Season Adventures that will take you out into the star-blanketed forest to snowshoe for around two hours by moonlight.

Dance the night away at Park City’s best bars for live music. The Spur Bar & Grill is an upscale, smoke-free western bar and grill featuring live music from solo acoustic acts to rock and roll bands. O.P. Rockwell is a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge and live-music venue on Park City's historic Main Street, presenting nationally touring acts on a raised stage with state-of-the-art sound and lights show.

Dog Sledding

Get excited during an adventurous dog sledding excursion. Cozy up next to the one you love on a sleigh being guided by teams of beautiful huskies during one of these exhilarating tours that are bound to get your heart pumping. There are a handful of companies in the Park City area that offer these unique dog sledding experiences, and each of them has the professional and personal experience you would expect to find from top-notch touring companies.
