Famous for powder skiing, Park City, Utah, features two world-class resorts just 35 minutes away from the Salt Lake City airport.

Getting to a ski resort in most mountain towns can be a headache. You have to first fly in to a major city, rent a car, and then take on a multi-hour canyon drive through traffic to reach the slopes. Not so in Park City, Utah.

December – it’s a time to celebrate the holidays with family and friends and it also marks the true beginning of ski season. While it’s always fun to hit the slopes, especially around Christmas, there are other ways to enjoy the month of December in Park City.  With an abundance of off-slope activities to choose from, you’ll end your Park City vacation with enough memories to last a lifetime. Here are a few ideas for you to explore while trying to decide what to do in Park City this December:

The kids may be back at school, but there isn’t a better time to get them hooked on fly fishing than during the Fall -- when Park City’s blue-ribbon waters are framed by hues of oranges, yellows, reds and golds in one of the most magnificent displays of fall foliage anywhere in the Western United States.

Park City First Timers is back for summer, with a new host, and six new episodes.

In our first summer episode, our host, Ryan, and a few of his friends join Destination Sports and Adventures to raft the Weber River. They meet their guide, Trixie, in Henefer – just outside of Park City.
