It’s commonly understood that mountain biking and beer go hand-in-hand. Who doesn’t love an ice cold one after a mountain bike ride in the summer sun?  One of Park City’s local breweries, Squatters, even named one of their beers “Full Suspension” in ode to mountain biking, noting that it “really smooths out the bumps.”  There are quite a few Park City restaurants and breweries that are conveniently located at trailheads all over town.  We have a few post-ride recommendations for after you explore one of Park City’s classic mountain bike trails.

Park City, Utah is known for its pristine mountains, vibrant ski scene, and miles of biking and hiking trails, but, underneath it all, the town is loaded with unique silver mining history. Bits and pieces of the area’s mining past still remain and it’s fun to learn about Park City’s existence prior to becoming an outdoor mecca. There are many ways to dive into the area’s mining history, including a few non-traditional options like hiking and skiing tours, as well as Fox School of Wine’s ‘Mines and Wines Tour.’  Not only can you enjoy a fun, activity-filled vacation, you can also become a Park City mining history expert!

Park City is home to more than 450 miles of trails that are ready for you to explore via mountain bike.  Mountain biking can require a lot of gear, and it’s not always easy to pack it all for your trip.  Fortunately, Park City has many bike rental and gear outfitters that will fit you with the latest equipment for your adventure.  Having trouble deciding what to bring and what to leave at home? Hosted by the Park City Gallery Association, the Last Friday Gallery Stroll, is a fun (and free) monthly community event dedicated to highlighting artists and special exhibits at art galleries throughout town.  Park City’s art scene continues to thrive, offering a robust variety of unique art collections from local, national, and international artists. On the last Friday of each month, 19 members of the Park City Gallery Association open their doors for visitors and locals alike to enjoy light refreshments and to admire their latest art installations.

There is a lot going on in Park City throughout the summer as it is a great place to enjoy outdoor activities, check out local events, and to cool off and breathe in the fresh mountain air. There really is never a dull moment around here, making it the perfect location to celebrate America’s independence.
