Family Cross Country Ski Lessons

February 17, 2021 by Jessica Averett

Our family love of skiing runs deep. My husband and I met on a chairlift and most of our kids started skiing shortly after they could walk. Thankfully, our kids are all as obsessed with downhill skiing as their parents are. However, when I suggested that we try cross country skiing this winter, no one was on board. In my kids minds, cross country skiing was boring, slow, and a waste of time.

Park City offers Creative Ways to Dine Outside in the Winter

February 5, 2021 by Rachel Friedman Elberts

Over the summer dining outside became a true staple with more restaurants creating an abundance of outdoor spaces for diners to enjoy meals. While winter does pose some challenges for dining outside, restaurants have come up with unique and creative ways for restaurant-goers to not only feel safe but also have a special dining experience, after what may be months of not dining out. Dining in alpenglobes, igloos, yurts, and other inventive spaces have become the trendy thing to do this winter to create captivating atmospheres, AND I am here for it! If there’s one thing the pandemic has done, it’s made going out to dinner a special occasion once again, and with the addition of these fun and inviting winter dining options, the outdoor patio has been elevated as the go-to place to sit and enjoy a meal. Below I’ve highlighted a number of dining options in Park City that have embraced these alternative dining options.

Washington School House Hotel – Luxury and History in the Heart of Old Town Park City

February 2, 2021 by Casey Lane

In a town where a High School can be a library, a barn can be a gym, and an auto shop can be a restaurant, it only makes sense that a boutique bed and breakfast would have at one time been a functioning schoolhouse. And like the town itself, which has played host to everyone from miners to Olympians, Washington School House Hotel has survived 132 years through adaptation and reinvention.

Defy gravity and try Yoga in Silks with Park City Yoga Adventures

January 19, 2021 by Rachel Friedman Elberts

I was recently looking for a way to decompress from all of the stressful events in 2020 and the hectic holiday season when I came across Park City Yoga Adventure’s (PCYA) Snowshoe + Yoga in Silks experience. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with yoga as I truly enjoy the benefits of yoga, mindfully moving my body, stretching, slowing down, but my ADHD will usually kick in and won’t let me just sit and relax. Yoga … in aerial silks, however, really piqued my interest as I thought it must have a playful and fun element to it.

A Local's Guide to Chocolate in Park City

January 12, 2021 by Zach Fyne

I’ve always been enamored with exploring the chocolate scene of whichever far off destination I’ve traveled to. Whether it’s discovering the Oaxacan spiced hot chocolate in Mexico, walking along the Sydney Harbour with a brownie in hand, or going on a dark chocolate tour in Brussels, traveling and chocolate have always gone hand in hand for me.

But something I’ve uncovered is that I don’t actually have to leave home to sample some of the best chocolate, as Park City is an absolute gem for chocolate in all forms and varieties.
