Skin by DDarcy DeBarnarde's passions run more than skin deep – and she acts on them. "My own struggle with bad skin got me into skincare," the owner of Skin by D on Lori Lane said. "I'm passionate about fixing scarring, acne, rosacea - issues people really want to address. You won't find spa facials on my menu!"

But it was cancer that triggered Darcy's compassion and commitment. "My Dad, best friend, and amazing business partner all died of cancer," she recalls. "I saw chemo wreak havoc on their skin, so I got certified in oncology aesthetics and volunteered for the American Cancer Society's Look Good / Feel Better program."  Today, Darcy treats chemo-related skin conditions at her Skin by D offices in Park City and Newport Beach. "These beautiful people need loving human touch without needles, hospitals, or pain, someone to talk to and sometimes cry with."

Darcy chose Park City just a few years ago. Why? "The people!" she says with a laugh. "The kindest, most generous people. We were dumbfounded for the first six months."

After wrestling with COVID-related business conditions in California, Darcy looked for somewhere "my granddaughter could go to school, and I could commute to Newport Beach." When a former student who owned a PC business retired,  she saw a buying opportunity. "I jumped in with both feet!" she recalls. "Seven out of ten family members were here within a month." She opened Skin by D in 2020 and maintains her SoCal business, visiting regularly.

"Utah's beauty is amazing," Darcy says of her adopted state. "I love to get out and take photos. Though I'm a point-and-shoot pic-taker, sometimes I get lucky!"

We feel PC got lucky too, having Darcy's sophisticated skill and compassion as part of our community. Visit Darcy at skinbyd.com.
