Jeff Harwin’s observation of life in Park City may be the best one-line summary you’ve ever heard.  “Any time we go on vacation,” says the owner of Park City Fly Fishing Company with a smile, “we always look forward to coming back.”

“I don't know of another place on earth with the outdoor, business, and social opportunities we have here,” he adds.

A Florida native whose family vacationed in Park City as he grew up, Jeff’s love for the mountains and cold-water streams led him to take a shot at applying as a fly-fishing guide at Jans in 2004. “I finally heard back in 2005,” he recalls. “I said I’d be there in two days!”

Of discovering fly fishing at 16, Jeff says, “I never picked up a spinning rod again.” Today, he hand-ties all his flies for his guided expeditions, and his website is littered with photos of delighted clients posing with massive trout. “I even enjoy spending my free time fly fishing and ice fishing,” he laughs.

Jeff’s highly personable team provides a creel full of fun as well as an expertly-guided experience. “I love having guides with different personalities and getting them to mesh,” he says.

“Like them, Park City is a melting pot of people who love spending time with our families amid all the outdoor rec we have here,” says Jeff, who with his spouse Helen takes their two daughters skiing, hiking, and biking. “We also put in a lot of hard work, though.”

Of the non-fly-fishing life, Jeff says, “I enjoy cooking and grilling and love hosting dinner parties at our home, and a few years ago, I discovered pickleball. When I’m not fishing, look for me on the court!”

With a paddle or a pole, Jeff makes outdoor living pleasure for friends, family, and clients. We’re proud he’s a Chamber partner of three businesses including Utah Pro Fly Fishing and Utah Ice Fishing.
