PARK CITY, UTAH (Winter 2012/13) - The readers of SKI magazine have officially declared their admiration for Park City's three world-class resorts - Deer Valley Resort, Canyons Resort, and Park City Mountain Resort. Every fall the magazine's highly anticipated Resort Guide hits the stands and informs the world of how North American ski resorts rank in the opinions of its knowledgeable readers. For the first time in the 25 years of the survey, Park City's three resorts all placed in the top ten with Deer Valley Resort ranked #2, Park City Mountain Resort #4, and Canyons Resort #10.

"Not only is this honor a first for the Park City community," says Bill Malone, President and CEO of the Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau, "but also for the state of Utah to have three of its resorts ranked in the top ten."

This season, Deer Valley Resort was named the #2 overall best ski resort and earned #1 rankings in Service, Dining, On-Mountain Food, Family Programs, and Lodging categories. Prior to this year, Deer Valley held the #1 overall best ski resort ranking in North America for five years running. The resort has invested $8 million in resort improvements for the upcoming season, including replacing the Deer Crest chairlift on Little Baldy Mountain with a high-speed detachable quad named Mountaineer Express. Additional improvements to the resort include a remodel of the Snow Park Restaurant, expanded snowmaking in Empire Canyon, and five Prinoth Snowcats, including one Beast Groomer.

Receiving its highest ranking in resort history, Park City Mountain Resort earned the #4 spot for overall best ski resort. This year, the resort was ranked in the Top Ten in several categories including Grooming, Family Programs, Dining, Après-Ski, Terrain Parks, Access, Off-Hill Activities, and Weather, and was previously named #1 Family Vacation by the editors of SKI for the 2011/12 season. Debuting this season is the resort's newest terrain park, Neff Land, combining park features with a style and atmosphere from Neff Headwear's design team. In addition, the "I Ride Park City" freestyle camp will expand its schedule for intermediate-expert skiers and snowboarders ages 9-15 including terrain park and all-mountain instruction. The resort continues to focus on, an insider's guide to planning the ultimate family vacation from the resort's Snowmamas and Snowpapas.

Canyons Resort earned the #10 overall ranking this year, an impressive leap from #20 just three years ago and also the highest ranking in the resort's history. The resort received high marks in many categories including Top Ten rankings for Access, Terrain Parks, On-Mountain Dining, and Lodging. Canyons has invested more than $50 million in infrastructure since 2010, including the only enclosed heated-seat chairlift in North America, the addition of 300 acres of skiable terrain, and upgrades in both resort village and on-mountain dining. This season, the resort will see the addition of new lodging and dining properties, three all-new terrain parks, and the integration of a dozen Olympic and National Team athletes into the resort's Ultimate Mountain Experience fantasy camp.
