Park City Chamber of Commerce | Convention & Visitors Bureau (Chamber/Bureau) is proud to announce that one of its group sales managers, Alex Hagn, has won national recognition in the meetings industry, being named in Connect Meetings Magazine’s feature ’40 Under 40.’
The publication sought nominations from meeting planners throughout the United States and Canada, asking them to single out individuals ‘leading the comeback of the meetings industry’ following the onset of Covid-19, which brought a complete halt to the booking of group meetings.
Park City relies heavily on groups and meetings to sustain employment levels outside of the winter ski season. Hagn, who books between $3 and $4 million in meetings revenue annually for Park City, is especially proud to have created new tools that help him sell the area to meeting plans. The Park City Chamber/Bureau Group Sales team seeks out meetings that are especially meaningful in filling hotels during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
A meeting planner from the National Hispanic Corporate Council, based in Washington D.C., was considering bringing his group meeting to Park City and met with Alex to discuss how the group might design a Park City event. He was so impressed with Alex’s knowledge, passion for the area, and follow-up, that he nominated Alex for the ’40 Under 40’ recognition.
“I am genuinely thrilled to see one of our team members recognized on a national level,” shares Tonya Sweeten, who is the Vice President of Group Sales for the Chamber/Bureau. “Our team does a tremendous job all year, sharing Park City’s offerings with professionalism, creativity and kindness. They are one of the town’s best kept secrets, because when they succeed, and a group books in Park City during the shoulder season, it truly impacts our economy in a powerful way and helps businesses retain their employees on an annual basis,”
Sweeten continues. “It wasn’t long ago that businesses only could higher seasonally because business volume wasn’t consistent throughout the year. Our Group Sales efforts make a tremendous difference and the skills shown by Alex and his team colleagues to win these groups on behalf of Park City are game-changers for our town. In a way, they are all local Park City heroes.”
