Fall Brings Big Events for Chamber/Bureau Communications Team
The Communications team is very busy in fall – both showing our beautiful changing leaves to national media and preparing winter season stories. This week, we are hosting six media from Phoenix, Denver, New York, Tampa, Charlotte and Vancouver B.C. to the Autumn Aloft balloon festival. Last week we brought in a popular Instagram couple, writing as Roamaroo to cover our fall scene and we welcomed Travel & Leisure to write about fall in Park City. Next week, we are taking five Park City chefs to New York for a Park City-themed dinner at the prestigious James Beard House.

Thanks to Executech, a local Utah IT service provider and Chamber/Bureau member, our first seminar was a big success. Attendees received important information on protecting their business from hackers and other cybersecurity threats. The session was chock-full of practical advice, on everything from how to spot a suspicious email to what products are on the market that can protect the privacy of yourself, your customers, and your employees.

Green Tips From Recycle Utah
This is a new monthly feature in our member newsletter brought to you by Chamber Member Recycle Utah. Focusing on topics of recycling, composting, and community awareness when it comes to sustainability in Park City and the surrounding areas, each installment will have great insight on how to do your part to keep Park City Green!
What Goes into My Recycle Bin?
Recycling can be confusing. Markets change and therefore what can and cannot go into our bin can also be confusing. Since China stopped taking a lot of the world’s plastics waste last year, there’s even more of a push to reduce plastics in the first place… and deal with them domestically. Here are a few current rules to know about recycling:
YES! to the Curbside bin: Metal cans, cardboard and paperboard (eg cereal boxes), paper, and hard plastics (eg drink bottles, yogurt containers and clamshells)
NO! to the Curbside bin: Glass, soft plastics (eg bags), Styrofoam and food
Recyclables must be rinsed if necessary and 90% clean of food contamination. All items accepted in your curbside bin are also accepted at Recycle Utah, in addition to glass, soft plastics, Styrofoam for packaging and much more.
Recycle Utah, your community non-profit drop off recycling center, provides these weekly tips. Click HERE to visit their website for more helpful hints!
Upcoming Community Events
There is never a dull moment in Park City! This is the most challenging calendar to keep updated because there is something to do every day! Below is a list of a few of the upcoming local events. Click on the links below to see what's going on around town with our various member partners!
Park CityStyle Magazine
A new publication is coming to town and this one specializes in digging deep into the Park City culture and proving a look into living the Park City lifestyle through rich editorials and engaging photography.
J.C. Bush Creative Media, LLC has been publishing award-winning magazines for over three decades in Colorado and Wyoming. Their “Style” of magazines are written and designed to be an intimate conversation to showcase mountain town lifestyles and the denizens who make each community so unique.
We met up with owner and publisher Jeff Bush to ask him a few questions.
What compelled you to bring your publication model to Park City and launch Park City Style Magazine?
I have lived, worked and played in the wonderful townships of Telluride and Jackson Hole for the past 30 years. My wife and I have also been fortunate to have lived part-time in Park City while owning and operating a business in Snowbird. Many Park City locals, who have enjoyed our other resort magazines, encouraged us to launch Park CityStyle Magazine. Our team of local writers, photographers and market advisors are already creating a wonderful storyboard to premiere this winter: The Soul of Park City—The Silver Lining.
What makes PC Style Magazine unique to this market?
To entice and engage a target audience of locals, second homeowners and visitors through a theme-based publishing model has been core to creating success for our ad partners and readership. All you need is one of our magazines in your hands to immediately see (and feel) what makes us unique—from word-smithing and clean design to embracing the traditional print model of 50% editorial, folks love to read, keep and share our magazines.
As a Chamber member, what chamber member benefits do use as a business in Park City?
