Now more than ever Law Enforcement officers and families need the support of their communities.  The wives of the Park City Police Department are joining together for the 3rd Annual Paint the Town Blue event. Please show your support for the men & women in blue by joining us, picking up a ribbon, or wearing your own blue. MeriAnn Boxall
When:     Saturday, Oct 7 11 AM-1:30 PM
Where:    The Market at Park City (1500 Snowcreek Dr.)
Why:       We know that our officers our greatly supported within our community and want to continue to show them the support and gratitude that community members feel for police officers every day.  This annual event is a great opportunity to remind our first responders that we see them and appreciate it.  The first annual Paint the Town Blue event began as support for the nationwide, month long, campaign called “Back the Blue”.  This campaign began after the execution style killing of the Harris County, Texas, Deputy Darren Goforth was the final straw for police wife Sherri Aaron, married 32 years to the Chief of Police in Mansfield, TX, who says “the climate for police is hateful and with the anti-police rhetoric spewed on the internet and social media” something has to be done to remind the officers that supporters are still out there.
Aaron started a campaign called “Back the Blue” that she ran for the entire month of September, 2015.  A large part of this campaign was to encourage citizens to thank a police officer, showing them the support that is out there.  We joined this campaign with our first “Paint the Town” Blue event making this, our 3rd Annual Paint the Town Blue Event.
We would love to see the support of local businesses, and ask that they “Go Blue” on Saturday October 7 in support of this event.
The wives of the Park City Police Department are working to provide you an opportunity to participate and show your support by joining us at the event.  Here you can pick up blue items to show support and even personally thank a police officer.  This event will take place on Saturday, October 7 from 11AM- 1:30 PM at The Market in Park City.
We hope you accept the challenge and encourage others to do the same.  Please share your photos with us on social media with #PaintthetownbluePC.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 14, 2017 for the Second Annual Park City Sunrise Rotary Shot Ski, sponsored by Wasatch BreweryWasatch Shot Ski Photo

Once again, the Sunrise Rotary will be enlisting enthusiastic participants to take a “shot” of delicious Wasatch beer to help raise funds for the Park City Sunrise Rotary.  The one long ski (actually a total of 440 skis bolted together) will be hoisted at 2:00 p.m. in an attempt to break the record of 1,234 participants set by Breckenridge last January.
And to keep the celebration going, Wasatch Brewery will host a beer garden in the Brew Pub lot from noon until 6:00, complete with games, live music, a food truck and of course, a selection of Wasatch Brewery’s award-winning craft beers.
“Our goal for 2017 is to sign up a total of 1,250 beer-lovers who also want to support our Rotary”, says Connie Nelson, Sunrise Rotary member.  “We are currently in the process of adding on the additional skis and greatly appreciate Big Shots coming on board again this year and donating all of the shot ski mounts.  I have no doubt that we will again be able to beat the record of Breckenridge to reclaim the crown!”
There will be several different ticket options in 2017 including:

  • $20 ticket, good for one unreserved spot on a ski
  • $25 ticket, good for one unreserved spot on a ski plus entrance to the beer garden, plus your first beer (capacity limited to 600)
  • $500 VIP Team Ticket, which includes:
    •  6 reserved spots on two skis
    •  2 skis wrapped with your team or company name to take home as a souvenir
    • 6 entrance passes to the Wasatch Beer Garden
    • 6 beer tokens.

“Now that the word has gotten out about what a fun event this is, we anticipate selling out very quickly this year, so we are encouraging all potential participants to purchase tickets as soon as possible by going to”, says Wasatch Marketing Director Judy Cullen.

“And to inspire everyone to dress up in costume, Wasatch Brewery founder Greg Schirf will be handing out gift cards and Wasatch “swag” to entrants dressed in the best regalia.  The goal, like last year, is to have fun while raising money for a very worthwhile cause” says Cullen.
