Utah Olympic Park

  • Site of 14 events during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, this year-round U.S. Olympic training facility welcomes athletes of all ages and abilities.
  • Free admission to watch athletes train, tour the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the 2002 Eccles Olympic Winter Games Museum.
  • "The Comet" Public Bobsled Ride zooms down the Olympic bobsled track at speeds up to 80 miles per hour and up to 5 G's of force as an experienced bobsled pilot navigates the course.
  • Host of the FIBT Bobsled Skeleton World Cup (Dec. 6-7), FIL Luge World Cup (Dec. 13-14), and the Olympic Qualifier for the Nordic combined and ski jumping events (Dec. 29).

    The National Ability Center

    • Year-round adaptive recreation programs in 20 sports, growing from 45 ski lessons in 1985 to more than 25,000 experiences annually.
    • Nation's only adaptive bobsled program, the NAC is working with the International Federation of Bobsled & Toboggan to make bobsledding a Paralympic sport.

    Dining and Unique Libations

    • James Beard Award Semi-finalists have included Park City's restaurateur Bill White, Talisker on Main, and High West Distillery & Saloon.
    • Billy Blanco's, the newest addition to Bill White Restaurant Collection, opened June 2013. The new Mexican restaurant offers a variety of taco dishes, signature burritos and enchiladas, as well as American favorites with a Southwestern twist.
    • High West Distillery and Saloon is Utah's first distillery since Prohibition, debuted the distillery's newest barrel aged cocktail, The Barreled Boulevardier, in May 2013.
    • The Farm is located at Canyons Resort's base area, was rated the "Best New Restaurant in Utah" in 2012 by Salt Lake Magazine and focuses on local, fresh ingredients and a farm-to-table concept.
    • Bistro at Canyons serves classic American fare and is the first certified kosher restaurant open all season long at any ski resort in the nation. Opens for the 2013 season on the first day of Hanukkah.
    • Talisker on Main was named the "Best Restaurant in Park City" three years in a row by Salt Lake Magazine and focuses on distinctive regional flavors and offers an evolving menu with the seasons.
    • Silver is located in an original 1926 brick building on Historic Park City's Main Street with three floors of urban-chic lounge and dining spaces. Highlights include classic American dishes, original artisan cocktails and a 3,000-bottle wine list.
    • Park City Food Tours are guided by local residents who share a cultural and historical perspective on the beautiful art, relaxing spas, the wonderful restaurants and other highlights of Historic Main Street.
    • St. Regis Bar at Deer Valley is rated #1 restaurant in Park City on tripadvisor.com, and offers fine dining and many specialty cocktails, including the 7452 Mary. Featuring an outdoor patio overlooking Park City and a nightly champagne sabering.
    • The Glitretind Restaurant at Stein Eriksen Lodge has been recognized as "Best American Fine Dining" and "Best Wine List" in Utah by Salt Lake Magazine and "Most Romantic" by Zagat.
    • Vinto, the newest fast-casual restaurant on Main Street, offers wood-fired pizza and fresh seasonal Italian cooking with an inspired play on modern Italian style.
    • Riverhorse on Main For the 15th straight year, Riverhorse On Main received a Four-Star Rating among Forbes Travel Guide's 2013 Star Award winners.
    • Wasatch Brew Pub became Park City's first brewery since Prohibition in 1986, and recently released their new brew, Ghostrider, in April 2013.
    • Edge Steakhouse earned awards for "Best Steakhouse" and "Best Fine Dining Chef" in Utah's 2013 Best of State Program. Edge blends classic steakhouse favorites with an array of specialty appetizers,

    Lodging Developments

    • Park City offers over 100 lodging properties including multi-family private homes, bed and breakfast inns, condominiums and full-service hotels. Among these are the highest concentration of ski-in/ski-out luxury lodging brands in North America.
    • Washington School House was originally built as a schoolhouse in 1889, underwent a recent renovation transforming this historical building into a high-end boutique hotel in Historic Park City.
    • Hyatt Escala Lodge at Park City AAA Four Diamond property located slopeside at Canyons Resort features 150 guest rooms and 1-4 bedroom suites, a full-service restaurant, Escala Provisions Company, and 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.
    • Montage Deer Valley is a ski-in/ski-out luxury hotel that includes 220 rooms and suites, a 35,000 sq. ft. spa, 50,000 sq. ft. of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting space and numerous on-site amenities. Utah's first LEED certified hotel/resort.
    • Stein Eriksen Lodge, Utah's only Forbes Five Star Hotel and Spa. In May 2013 opened the 6,000 sq. ft. luxury Stein Eriksen Ballroom. With mountain views and retractable glass, the space is ideal for weddings and meetings.
    • St. Regis Deer Valley offers 177 hotel rooms with world-class ski-in/ski-out accommodations and on-site amenities including J & G Grill and Remède Spa.
    • Waldorf Astoria's first luxury mountain resort, located at the base of Canyons Resort, has exclusive access to both skiing and snowboarding and includes world-class dining at Slopes and home of renowned Golden Door Spa, Waldorf Astoria Park City is a 2012 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List hotel.
    • Newpark Resort & Hotel is centrally located in Newpark Town Center with easy access to dining, shopping and entertainment. Newpark received the prominent Certificate of Excellence award which honors the top 10 percent of TripAdvisor accommodations worldwide. Expedia has bestowed the prestigious Insider Select Award, recognizing Newpark as one of the Top 500 Hotels worldwide.
    • Hilton Grand Vacations Sunrise Lodge offers 1-4 bedroom suites and stunning views. Sitting slopeside, the Sunrise Lodge is only a short stroll from Canyons Resort Village and a few minutes of a drive from Historic Main Street.

    Art, Culture & Events

    • Historic Park City is home to quaint shops, fine dining, art galleries and bars. It showcases Park City's eclectic nature, with everything from hardware to sportswear, handcrafted furniture to designer boutiques.
    • Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival is held annually every January, and is the largest independent cinema festival in the U.S., featuring American and International filmmakers, Jan. 16-26, 2014. 
    • Park City Food Tours are guided by local residents who share a cultural and historical perspective on the beautiful art, relaxing spas, award-winning restaurants and other highlights of Historic Park City's Main Street.
    • The Paint Mixer offers a blend of art and wine/beer tasting. Guests enjoy a glass of beer or wine and music as they follow an instructor step-by-step to recreate a featured painting. 
    • Jupiter Bowl is 16 luxury lanes of ultra-modern bowling including a billiards lounge, arcade, restaurant and full-service bar. Group accommodations for up to 600 people are available.
    • RAMP Sports, Park City's local ski company, is manufacturing high quality, handmade snowboards for this season using earth-friendly, U.S. made materials.
    • Park City Gallery Stroll is a free monthly tour highlighting artists, exhibits, and art events giving visitors the opportunity to explore Park City's rich and ample art scene.
    • Park City Ghost Tours offers a guided 75-minute stroll through Historic Park City's Main Street, revealing the ghosts that haunt the turn of the century buildings. Offered nightly at 8 p.m.
    • Park City Yoga Adventures is a unique experience combining Park City's natural environment with professional yoga instruction. Guests can practice yoga on a paddleboard in the mineral-rich 90 degree water of a 10,000 year old crater or snowshoe to a scenic area in the crisp mountain air for their yoga session.

      Environmental News

      • Park City's free bus system is fueled by biodiesel and transports over 2 million passengers annually.  
      • Pedestrian-friendly Park City approved a $15 million bond to increase walkability and bikeability within the city.
      • Over 7,000 acres of open space in and around Park City has been protected through development agreements and city purchases using general funds and bonds.
      • LEED Certified Buildings Park City requires that all new and remodeled city buildings must meet LEED standards and score at least 75 on the Energy Star rating scale. Park City LEED certified buildings include the Swaner EcoCenter, Montage Deer Valley, and Newpark Hotel.
      • The Swaner EcoCenter is a 10,000 sq. ft. family-friendly interactive facility highlighting the area's commitment to open space and environmental education and overlooks 1,200 acres of the Swaner Nature Preserve.
      • Treasure Mountain Inn, a historical hotel located on Main Street, a 100% carbon neutral hotel, member of 1% for the Planet, an EPA Green Power Partner, a two-time winner of 'Utah Recycler of the Year' and recent recipient of Park City's Environmental Heroes Award.
      • Engaged citizenry Local environmental website, ParkCityGreen.org, averages over 1,000 visits per month.
      • Efficient city operations The city has a goal to annually prevent 2,800 tons of CO2 emissions and provide $274,000 in municipal savings each year.
